A Peer-to-Peer System Assignment for Teaching Distributed Systems Concepts
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper describes a peer-to-peer system design and implementation assignment for a distributed systems course at an advanced undergraduate level, or a first-year graduate level. The assignment consists of four stages, and provides students a good, practical understanding of some of the key distributed computing concepts. These include issues of decentralization, managing distributed information, communication middlewares, heterogeneity, distributed fault tolerance and security, and performance evaluation. The assignment is easy to explain to the students, makes them understand the inherent limitations of a distributed system, and provides hands-on experience with some of the latest distributed computing technologies.

A Genetic Programming-based trust model for P2P Networks
Abstract— Peer-to-Peer ( P2P ) systems have been the center of attention in recent years due to their advantage . Since each node in such networks can act both as a service provider and as a client , they are subject to different attacks . Therefore it is vital to manage confidence for these vulnerable environments in order to eliminate unsafe peers . This paper investigates the use of genetic ...

The interactions among peers in Peer-to-Peer systems as a distributed collaborative system are based on asynchronous and unreliable communications. Trust is an essential and facilitating component in these interactions specially in such uncertain environments. Various attacks are possible due to large-scale nature and openness of these systems that affects the trust. Peers has not enough inform...

متن کاملFair Peer Assignment Scheme for Peer-to-Peer File Sharing
The reciprocal virtue of peer-to-peer networking has stimulated an explosion of peer population and service capacity, ensuring rapid content distribution in peer-to-peer networks. Critical issues such as peer churn, free riding, and skewed workload significantly affect performance results such as service agility, fairness, and resource utilization. To resolve these problems systematically, this...

In this paper we propose DRMI, a fully decentralized, highly scalable and efficient resource management infrastructure, which is built on top of prefix-based DHT. DRMI provides large-scale resource monitoring and management for arbitrary metadata in variational Grid and peer-to-peer environment. DRMI monitors resources with their natural organizations and can trace them in a wide scope from lar...
